This Italianate brick villa home was constructed in 1867 by the well known Perrin Brothers Builders of Lafayette who built several homes in the area around the same time period. The first owner of the home was the noted Samuel Ramsey Seawright, a physician, whose personal life is documented among historical biographies of noteworthy men and women of the city of Lafayette. The unique ornate wrought ironwork on the exterior marks this home a worthy landmark on North 9th Street. The Ironwork was not original to the construction but was added around the turn of the century. |
